CHS girls roll past league foe

A shutout first quarter led the Culver girls' basketball team to a home Tri-River victory against Delphian on Saturday.
   The Bulldogs jumped ahead 12-0 and eventually won 48-16 for the second league victory. A night earlier, Culver fell to third-ranked Salem Academy (48-23) and also at Blanchet on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
   A busy Tri-River schedule awaits the Bulldogs in the next few days. It starts with a home Thursday contest against Kennedy. Culver then travels to East Linn Christian (in Lebanon) on Saturday and then to Western Mennonite on Tuesday, Jan. 15.
   Culver 48, Delphian 16: The outside-inside offense of Keeley Kinley and Jordan Roen led the way. Both scored 12 points in the victory. Justine Parker added a career-high nine points.
   Blanchet 52, Culver 25: The host Cavaliers took control with a 14-5 first quarter lead.
   Kinley and Roen scored six points each to lead the Bulldog offense.
