Man dies in Culver area accident
A Madras-area man died early Thursday morning in a single vehicle traffic crash about two miles north of Culver on Highway 361.
On Jan. 3, at approximately 2:37 a.m., a 1990 Plymouth Voyager van driven by Michael David Troxel, 43, of Madras, was northbound on Highway 361 when it failed to negotiate a right curve, traveled off the highway and overturned onto its top in an irrigation ditch.
Troxel was not using safety restraints and was ejected. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Oregon State Police troopers from the Madras and Prineville offices are continuing the investigation to determine the cause. Assistance at the scene provided by Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Oregon Department of Transportation and local emergency responders.
