Superintendent search committee seeks members
Applications for the position of Jefferson County School District superintendent must be in by Feb. 11. Interviews will held in March, and a selection is scheduled to be announced April 7.
The Jefferson County School District is seeking applicants for a screening committee to aid in its superintendent search.
This diverse committee will include parents and community members, certified and classified staff, school administration, and school board members.
The committee, which will number between 18 and 22 members, will review applications for the superintendent position and make recommendations to the school board on which of those candidates to interview.
Committee members must be available between Feb. 14 and 20. During this time, the entire committee will meet for a training session and then commit to an additional 10 to 15 hours during the next days to evaluate the applications.
Due to privacy laws, committee members will not be allowed to disclose any information regarding applicants.
Applications for the screening committee are available on the district's Web site at www.jcsd.k12.or.us or at the district office, 445 SE Buff Street, Madras. The school board will take formal action to name the committee members at its Jan. 28, meeting.
