Man sentenced to six years
A Madras man, Clayton Lee Sipila, 18, was sentenced Jan. 2 to six years and three months in prison for the sexual abuse of a 9-year-old girl.
Sipila pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of attempting to commit first-degree sodomy, class B felonies, which occurred over the course of about two years, beginning July 1, 2005, according to chief deputy district attorney Steve Leriche.
Circuit Court Judge Dan Ahern sentenced Sipila to 75 months with the Oregon Department of Corrections, under Oregon's mandatory minimum sentencing guidelines.
Post-prison supervision of 10 years, minus the time actually served, was also ordered.
A charge of first-degree rape and two counts of first-degree sodomy were dismissed.
