Free Real Estate Forum held in Madras

Interesting in learning more about the ins and outs of buying and selling real estate, learning terminology plus the financial impacts of property ownership?
The Jefferson County Real Estate Forum -- organized by local real estate, mortgage and financial professionals -- will be held Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Inn at Cross Keys. The forum starts at 6 p.m. There is no cost to attend, and refreshments and materials will be provided. This will be an informational program and no sales efforts will be made.
"It's a program to provide people information," said Dick Dodson, owner of Coldwell Banker-Dick Dodson Realty. "There's a lot of misinformation and confusion about real estate, and this forum's goal is to alleviate some of that, to provide people with educational information in a no-pressure situation."
Forum presenters will uncover the myths about real estate and mortgages, noted Dodson, and will explain title and escrow, home inspections, and other industry aspects. The tax benefits of home ownership will also be discussed.
Preregistration is requested, and to do so contact the Madras-Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, at 475-2350.
