Culver City Council to view vacant position
At its next meeting, the Culver City Council is slated to discuss the opening on the council, which occurred with the sudden passing of council member Stella "Sam" Clark on Dec. 25.
In order to fill the position, Mayor Dan Harnden will have to declare a vacancy, then the council can either appoint someone or take some other action.
The council will discuss the options at its 7 p.m., Jan. 28, meeting, to which the public is invited.
Besides Mayor Harnden, current councilors include Thelma Krueger and Shawna Clanton, who both were elected in 2006, and Richard Hancock, who was appointed in 2006 to fill Jay Schilling's term, after Schilling resigned.
