The free salsa dance class, offered Jan. 5, by the Jefferson County Library, was so popular that instructor Yirah Marrero will be offering more classes in the future. No partner is necessary for the class.
Born in the Caribbean, Marrero grew up listening and dancing to salsa, cha-cha and merengue music. She was assisted with dance instruction by her husband Manuel Marrero and her friend Lucy Ennis. Marrero is the Spanish services coordinator at the library.
For more information, or to put your name on the list for the next dance class, call the library at 475-3351.
