Pottery part of COCC local offerings


   Pick a COCC Community Ed class to feed your mind or body. Spring classes range from cooking, organic gardening, health and fitness, and writing workshops, to a variety of computer and business classes.
   Joining the returning favorites are over 50 new classes for spring including Photographing Action, Green Building and Remodeling, Cave Exploration and Eco Challenge, Painted Silk Scarf, and Hiking State Parks.

   Madras pottery class
   Learn wheel throwing and hand-building techniques in this eight week class beginning Monday, March 31, from 6 to 9 p.m., at Madras High School.
   Local artist and instructor, Phil Smith, will teach people how to glaze their own creations and explore firing techniques while guiding them to improve their experience. All skill levels are welcome.
   The cost of the class is $89 and clay and tools are included in class price. Preregistration is required by calling COCC Community Learning, 383-7270 or registering online at www.cocc.edu
