Dinner promotes local history

   Jefferson County Historical Society's annual fundraising dinner is slated for Friday, April 4, at the Culver Christian Church, with social hour at 5:30 and dinner at 6:30 p.m.
   The guest speaker will be Forrest Rodgers, former president of the High Desert Museum, and now director of the OSU/Cascades Foundation. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Box Canyon Bluegrass Band.
   Everyone is invited to enjoy a delicious Western-style roast beef dinner, classy entertainment, and the silent auction.
   The auction will offer many items including: guided excursions to Opal Springs, Ashwood country, Blizzard Ridge, the Sky Ranch, the Oregon Trunk and SP&S. railroad routes, the Deschutes River; historical photos and artifacts, crafts lessons, genealogical research opportunities, art and more.
   There will also be a brief presentation by KMD Architects on the planning for the local Heritage Center.
