ulver High junior, Justine Lofting, is hoping to play volleyball in Australia in July.
The junior would play both indoor and beach volleyball. Lofting is on the Bulldog volleyball team.
"I've never played beach volleyball before," Lofting said.
The trip lasts from July 7-18 with 10 volleyball matches on the schedule. Those matches will be at Surfer's Paradise along Australia's Gold Coast, on the eastern seaboard, south of Brisbane.
"I'm excited about going on this trip," Lofting said. "I've never been to Australia before. It'd be a great experience and a chance to play more volleyball."
Lofting and Madras High senior Krista Haugen would be part of a team from Oregon. The tour is organized by Down Under Sports at a cost of $4,500 per person with a deadline of May 1 for the required money to be turned in.
Anyone wanting to help can call the Lofting family at 546-5128.
Two other Madras High students are seeking to be part of an Oregon cross country team also headed to Australia. Atcitty Begay and Andrew Flu would run in races against competitors from various countries including Australia.
