Tigers, Lady Bowmen pick up volleyball victories
The Tigard High School volleyball team moved a step closer to wrapping up second place in the Pacific Conference standings by scoring a 25-22, 25-19, 25-23 win over McMinnville in a league match played Tuesday at McMinnville High School.
With the victory, the Tigers improved to 10-2 in league play, keeping them two matches ahead of third-place Tualatin with two matches to play.
The Timberwolves moved to 8-4 in league contests after they fell 23-25, 25-19, 18-25, 25-23, 15-12 to Glencoe in a league match played Tuesday at Glencoe High School.
The Tigers and Wolves will both be back in action tonight (Thursday).
Tigard will host Newberg and Tualatin will be home to face Forest Grove in matches starting at 6:45 p.m.
On Tuesday, Tigard will finish its regular-season schedule with a 6:45 p.m. home match with Hillsboro. Tualatin will travel to play league-leading Century on Tuesday.
The Sherwood High School volleyball team kept its stranglehold on second place in the Northwest Oregon Conference standings by scoring a 25-6, 25-8, 25-13 victory over Milwaukie in a league match played Tuesday at Sherwood High School.
With the victory, the Lady Bowmen improved to 9-2 in NWOC play.
Sherwood will be back in action tonight when it hosts Parkrose at 6:45 p.m. On Tuesday, the Lady Bowmen travel to Wilsonville for a 6:45 p.m. league match.
