Beaverton Voters' Forum is on tap for Monday


The Beaverton Committee for Citizen Involvement and Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce invite the public to attend a Voters' Forum on Monday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the Beaverton City Library, 12375 S.W. Fifth St., for the Nov. 8 special election.

Residents are invited to show up early, beginning at 6:30 p.m., to meet the candidates and enjoy refreshments. The forum begins at 7.

Those planning on attending are encouraged to ask the candidates questions. Questions may be emailed in advance to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. up until Friday at 5 p.m. Questions may also be submitted the evening of the event.

Candidates for the open 1st Congressional District seat invited to participate in the forum include: Democrats Brad Avakian, Suzanne Bonamici and Brad Witt, and Republicans Rob Cornilles and Jim Greenfield.

Panelists consisting of supporters and opponents of the two Beaverton measures also will be presented. Those measures are 34-192 Approves Central Beaverton Urban Renewal Plan referred by the City Council and 34-193 Beaverton School District's Local Option Levy for teachers and educational programs.
