Salmon Homecoming at Oxbow - 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Oxbow Regional Park, 3010 S.E. Oxbow Parkway. Witness the return of wild salmon to one of the Pacific Northwest's premier rivers, the glacier-fed Sandy River. On the third and fourth weekends in October, enjoy viewing salmon on both Saturdays and Sundays. Select Sundays feature a guided salmon restoration walk and a rafting trip down the Sandy River to see the fish up close (registration required). Programs are free with a $5 per vehicle entry fee to the park, and registration is not required. For more information, call 503-797-1650, option 2. Leave pets at home.


Little Trout Play Park - 10 to 11:30 a.m., Glenn Otto Park, Sam Cox Building, 1106 E. Historic Columbia River Highway, Troutdale. Toddlers through 5-year-old children can enjoy an hour and a half of fun and frolic. Adult supervision is required. No registration is needed, but the cost is $1.50.
