Gophers leave no doubt – 28-7

MHC FOOTBALL - Gresham's 'D' comes up big in win over rival Bruins
by: David Ball Gresham receiver Hunter Busse picks up a first down after evading Barlow tackler Kennedy Johnson on Friday. Busse had one touchdown grab in the Gophers 28-7 win.

Already with a couple comeback wins under his belt this season, Barlow QB Campbell Summerfield looked to pull off some more heroics after hitting Derek Saling on a fade route in the back of the end zone to bring the Bruins within a touchdown late in the third quarter.

But Gresham wouldn't have any of it.

The Gophers kept putting the ball into Devauntae Hoffman's hands, and the junior halfback did his part with a series of crushing runs that moved the team into scoring position. He finished the game with 229 yards on 30 carries, routinely picking up extra yards after first contact.

Gresham went to the air to finish the drive with Devon Shields hitting Hunter Busse on a 15-yard out pattern to convert a third-and-long. Shields also found tight end Spencer Kelley for an 8-yard touchdown strike that pushed the lead back to 21-7....
