Portland police officer held on three felonies

One of the charges related to domestic violence

A 10-year veteran of the Portland Police Bureau was arrested Monday and charged with three felonies.

Officer James Botaitis, who is assigned to the East Precinct, was taken into custody by Vancouver, Wash., police and charged with burglary-domestic violence, second-degree assault not related to domestic violence and criminal harassment, also not related to domestic violence.

Botaitis was lodged in the Clark County Jail.

Portland police said Botaitis is the subject of a criminal investigation. No other information was released about the arrest or the charges.
