Tualatin, Sherwood netters tune up for playoffs


HILLSBORO - The Tualatin High School volleyball team, in its final Pacific Conference match before starting the Class 6A state playoffs, fell 25-14, 26-24, 25-19 to league champion Century in a contest played Tuesday at Century High School.

The Timberwolves finished the regular season in third place in the final league standings with a record of 9-5. Century finished a perfect 14-0 in league.

As the No. 3 team from the Pacific Conference, Tualatin earned an automatic bid to the Class 6A state playoffs.

The time and site for that match also has yet to be announced.


The Sherwood High School volleyball team picked up another Northwest Oregon Conference victory on Tuesday, scoring a 25-20, 25-13, 25-20 victory at Wilsonville.

The Lady Bowmen moved to 11-2 in league play with the win, keeping them in second place in the NWOC standings.

Sherwood will conclude its league schedule tonight (Thursday) when it hosts Putnam in a match starting at 6:45 p.m. at Sherwood High School.

On Tuesday, the Lady Bowmen will complete in a Class 5A state play-in match, most likely at home, against an opponent to be determined. The winner of that match will advance to play in the Class 5A state playoffs.
