The Portland Police Bureau and Crime Stoppers in October announced a reward for the public's help in solving a Southeast Portland robbery. On August 14, at 6:10 pm, East Precinct officers responded to the report of a purse snatch near S.E. 51st and Foster Road.
Officers learned that the victim, 21-year-old Seonyung Noh, was riding a TriMet bus when a suspect grabbed onto her purse and pulled the victim and the purse out of the bus at S.E. 52nd and Foster.
Noh was seated on the bus near the back exit door when the suspect grabbed the purse, which was wrapped around her arm, and the suspect pulled her and the purse out the back exit door onto the street, dragging her on the ground for a few seconds. The suspect was then able to get the purse away from the victim.
A witness came to her rescue and struggled with the suspect, who threw the purse over a fence and ran away. The witness then retrieved the purse for the victim. The only thing missing from it was the victim's earphones.
The suspect is described as a white male of unknown age, about six feet tall, weighing 150 pounds, with blonde hair, and wearing a purple shirt. He had a "KBS" tattoo on his left hand.
The suspect was accompanied by a white female, five feet tall, weighing about 100 pounds, with blond hair, wearing a purple shirt and sunglasses.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in this case, or any unsolved felony, and you can remain anonymous.
