Beginning next week, the Jefferson County Library will launch its 2011 Summer Reading Program entitled "One World, Many Stories."
Offered in three different locations, Madras on Tuesdays, Warm Springs on Wednesdays, and Culver on Thursdays, the program will run for five weeks.
The 2 to 3 p.m. sessions will include games, crafts, free T-shirts, books, and lots of information about places all around the world.
Children are encouraged to read and fill in book slips that will go into a drawing for 12 deluxe grand prizes. The more book slips a child turns in, the better his or her chances of winning. Book slips will be available at the programs and at the library's display table.
At the program's final‚ Aug. 30, at the library's Rodriguez Annex, the Summer Reading Program will wrap up with an end of summer pizza party, including games, entertainment and the grand prize book slip drawings.
There is no need to sign up ahead of time. Just come to the programs. For more information, contact Lorene at 541-475-3351, ext. 2.
