Redmond, Summit use speed for wins

The Madras girls water polo team suffered two nonleague losses to open its season last week.
   On Sept. 8, Redmond handed Madras an 18-4 loss.
   "Redmond has a very deep squad with speed and it caused us problems, especially late in the game," Madras coach Bobby DeRoest said.
   On Sept. 10, Madras trailed 6-5 at intermission, but was outscored 8-4 in the second half during a 14-9 loss to visiting Summit.
   "We played much better against Summit," DeRoest said.
   TaSheena George led Madras with five goals. Madras visits Bend at 5 p.m. Sept. 15 for another nonleague game.
