Due to the unseasonal dry and warm weather we are experiencing, the summer open burning restrictions are still in place within Jefferson County.
The only burning permitted within the fire district is approved burn barrels between the hours of dawn and 10 a.m.
Furthermore, the summer burning ban is still in effect for the rest of Central Oregon, including state and federal lands. The public's cooperation and patience is needed during this time.
The burning ban for Jefferson County will be lifted when we receive measurable moisture, which will ultimately reduce the current threat. Call the fire station at 541-475-7274 to obtain updated open burning information.
