Equestrian team hosting spaghetti feed Oct. 15
   The Madras High School equestrian team is hosting a spaghetti feed and silent auction Oct. 15 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Maccie Conroy building at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.

   White Buffs' hoop program sells calendars
   The Madras High School boys basketball program is selling calendars as a fundraiser to help fund a basketball trip to Arizona in December.
   The 2011-2012 calendars sell for $20 each or three for $50.

   2011 Kah-Nee-Ta fall run to take place Oct. 16
   The 2011 Kah-Nee-Ta fall run will take place Oct. 16 at the Village front gate at 10 a.m.
   Registration begins at 8 a.m. for the 10K, 5K and 1-mile fun run/walk.
   Those who preregister by Oct. 14 will save $5. For more information, contact the Warm Springs Recreation Department at 541-553-3243.
   Golf tournament to raise funds for MHS hoopsters
   On Oct. 15, the MHS boys basketball program is hosting a four-person golf scramble at Kah-Nee-Ta High Desert Resort & Casino.
   The fundraising event begins at 12 p.m. and is $50 per player. Entry fee includes green fees, cart, three closest to the pin entries and two long-putt entries.

   43rd annual Cowdeo to take place Oct. 22
   The 43rd annual Cowdeo will take place at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.
   Admission is $4 for the event that features goat decorating, horseless calf roping, breakaway calf roping, sheep riding, cow riding, girls and boys barrel racing, calf roping, keyhole race and chicken scramble for kids aged 5 to 14 years.
   Sponsorships are needed for the event. A business card advertisement is $25, a buckle, $50, and event sponsorship, $100.
   Proceeds benefit the Jefferson County Fire District, Culver PTO, J.C. Horse 4-H, St. Patrick's Catholic Church Youth Group and the County Fair Complex.

   Madras Swim Team tryouts set for Nov. 9-10
   The Madras Swim Team will host tryouts Nov. 9-10 at 5:30 p.m. each day for interested athletes at the Madras Aquatic Center. Swimmers must be 5 years old and swim one length of the pool.
