Madras trails Molalla in TVC

It's been a couple years since the Madras High School boys have lost two games in a row, but the White Buffalos quickly snapped that streak last week.
   Despite dropping consecutive road games to Estacada and Molalla, Madras earned a 2-1 victory over visiting North Marion last Thursday to improve to 3-2-0 in Class 4A Tri-Valley Conference play.
   "It's always nice to bounce back after losing a couple," MHS head coach Clark Jones said.
   Madras hosted La Salle (2-2-1) after press deadline Tuesday and visits Gladstone (0-4-1) Oct. 18.

   On Oct. 6, Madras erased a 1-0 deficit with two unanswered goals after visiting North Marion scored on a deflection off a White Buffalo.
   "Basically, our defense played really well," Jones of Madras' 2-1 victory. "Hosvaldo Diaz led us on defense."
   Madras goal keeper Hector Diaz had a big hand in the win, blocking a penalty kick in the 57th minute.
   Carlos Garcia and Derrick Pacheco each scored a goal and each had an assist for Madras.
   Molalla 2, Madras 0
   On Oct. 4, Molalla gained firm control of the Tri-Valley Conference with a 2-0 victory over Madras.
   The Indians scored in the 30th and 74th minute.d.
