Hospital expands to six general surgeons

ntain View Hospital has expanded its general surgery department to include six general surgeons who will provide complete surgical coverage for the hospital.
Previously, MVH employed one general surgeon who provided all surgical services.
Mountain View Hospital leadership set a goal to develop a more comprehensive plan to better provide for the surgical needs of the community.
The group of surgeons include contracted Surgical Associates of the Cascades, which consists of Jack Hartley, M.D., John Land, M.D., George Tsai, M.D., and Ngocthuy Hughes, M.D. Two additional surgeons, Ronald Sproat, M.D. and David Carne, M.D., will also assist with surgical coverage at MVH.
This team of surgeons offers a variety of surgical services at Mountain View Hospital, including trauma, hernia repair, appendectomy, gallbladder surgery, colorectal screenings, endoscopy services, as well as several other procedures for various conditions or diseases.
The new general surgery program at MVH began Oct. 4. To schedule an appointment with one of these six general surgeons, providers can contact the Mountain View Professional Center at 541-475-4800.
Surgical Associates of the Cascades is composed of doctors, Hartley, Land, Tsai and Hughes. Dr. Hartley has been providing general surgical coverage in Redmond since 1988. Dr. Land practiced initially in Bend and started his practice in Redmond in 2003.
Dr. Tsai joined the practice in 2005. Dr. Hughes started working with the group in August 2010, after working for a group in Bend for three years.
