Martin Matheny and Ariana Denney of Portland were united in marriage on Aug. 13, at the David Hill Winery near Forest Grove in an outdoor ceremony officiated by the Rev. Kate Lore of the First Unitarian Church.
The bride is the daughter of Trudy Denney of San Francisco, and Alexander and Candace Burga of Garnerville, Nev., and the groom is the son of Susan and Ron Matheny of Madras.
The bride wore an ivory silk chiffon, empire waist wedding gown, accented at the front with with a rhinestone cluster. She carried a bridal bouquet of pink roses and dahlias.
The maid of honor was Leigh Ann Kaiser, cousin of the bride, who wore a periwinkle blue cocktail dress, and carried a bouquet of pink roses, zinnias and dahlias.
The bridesmaids were Stephanie and Keller Burga, sisters of the bride, who were dressed to match the maid of honor. Honorary bridesmaids included Sarah Futernick, Heather Hodges, Melia Tichenor and Emily Strawn.
The best man was Michael Riley, and groomsmen were Ben Matlock, Jon Oakdale and Mark Schreiner. The flower girl was Emily Lindgren.
Vintage swing music was provided by the Collage Trio.
A reception with dinner and dancing immediately followed the ceremony. The wedding cake was a cupcake tower by St. Cupcakes of Portland.
The couple left for a honeymoon traveling through Germany and France.
They returned to Portland, where the groom is employed as a senior software engineer for Kryptiq Corp., and the bride is pursuing a master's degree in public administration at Portland State University.
