Jefferson County fair/rodeo court chosen
The newly crowned 2012 Jefferson County Fair and Rodeo Court has been announced as Princess Lindsay Soliz and Queen Jessica Foster.
Tryouts were held on Oct. 8, at the fairgrounds, where four young ladies vied for the crowns. The 2012 court coronation will be held on Nov. 13 at the fairgrounds, in conjunction with the Fair Appreciation Dinner.
At that event, the girls will be fundraising by holding a dessert dash and auction.
The 2012 Jefferson County Fair and Rodeo Queen is Jessica Foster. She is a senior at Summit High School and the 17-year-old daughter of Susan and Mike Foster of Bend.
She is very active in her school, OHSET, 4-H, Tri-County Rodeo Team and the youth choir, all while maintaining a 4.0 gpa.
Foster said it is the highest honor and privilege to be a member of the 2012 Jefferson County Fair and Rodeo Court and she is excited to further educate the public and support the fair and rodeo competitors as queen.
The princess is Lindsay Soliz, 16, of Sisters. She is the daughter of Vonda Soliz. She is a junior at Sisters High School, and at Redmond High School she is very active in FFA acting as a charter member and president of the Sisters FFA Chapter, OHSET and Deschutes County 4-H swine and beef projects.
Being on the court is a dream come true for Soliz, and she is looking forward to being a positive role model and mentor for all the young people.
The 2011 Jefferson County Fair and Rodeo Queen Megen Hopper was selected as the 2012 Deschutes County Fair and Rodeo Queen.
There were five young ladies vying for the title at the tryouts in September at the Deschutes Coounty Fairgrounds. Hopper is very excited to be able to continue on with something that she has enjoyed so much in 2011.
The 2010 Jefferson County Fair and Rodeo Queen Kayla Vincent was crowned the 2012 Miss Teen Rodeo Oregon during the pageant that was held in June in conjunction with the Tillamook County Rodeo in Tillamook.
Vincent will be representing the Miss Rodeo Oregon Pageant Inc. by traveling to many rodeos and functions throughout the state of Oregon during 2012.
A formal coronation and fundraiser will be held early next year in Madras that will include a dinner, silent auction, live auction and many more fun and entertaining events.
Everyone is invited to attend to support Vincent and celebrate this wonderful accomplishment.
