Ford, Gresham High raise $6,700
Gresham Ford, Gresham High School and local citizens raised $6,700 for Gresham High's Spirit Club at a recent test-drive event as part of Ford Motor Company's Drive One 4 UR School program.
More than 230 Gresham-area residents test-drove a Ford vehicle at Gresham Ford on Oct. 15, and Gresham Ford and Ford Motor Company donated $30 for each test drive of a Focus. They also donated $20 for each qualifying test drive of other new vehicles.
'I am so pleased with the turnout and the level of support from the local community. I've never been more proud to be a Ford dealer,' said Laurie Schwarzkopf, project manager at Gresham Ford. 'It was a great opportunity to take a fun, casual drive in one of our vehicles, while giving our students and community a much-needed helping hand.'
'With all the cuts in school budgets, its been important to find creative ways to fund raise,' said Kerry Parmenter, parent volunteer. 'The money raised with Ford will really make a difference to our students.'
