State Sen. Suzanne Bonamici is holding a strong lead in the democratic primary in Oregon's first congressional district.
That's according to a poll released last week by the Oregonian and KGW. In the poll, conducted Oct. 24-26 by Elway Research of Seattle, 45 percent of likely Democratic voters surveyed supported Bonamici. State Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian was supported by 11 percent while 5 percent supported State Rep. Brad Witt. But 38 percent of the 403 voters polled are still undecided in the election, with ballots due Nov. 8.
The poll results closely mirror an internal poll conducted by the Bonamici campaign Oct. 5-7. In that poll, Bonamici was supported by 41 percent of likely Democratic voters, while Avakian was supported by 16 percent and Witt was supported by 8 percent. In that poll, 31 percent were undecided.
