Dream big in library's Summer Reading Program
- Madras Pioneer - News
The Jefferson County Library's annual Summer Reading Program kicks off Tuesday, June 26, with its first program "Dreams & Wishes" running from 2-3 p.m. at the Library's Rodriguez Annex (134 S.E. E St. in Madras).
This year's theme is Dream Big -- READ! The programs are free and children of all ages are welcome to attend.
Hour-long programs will be held every Tuesday from 2-3 p.m. June 26 to July 24, at the Rodriguez Annex and will include games, craft activities, and special guests, as well as free T-shirts, backpacks, books, and more.
The programs will be repeated on Wednesdays at Warm Springs Early Childhood Education and on Thursdays at the Culver Elementary School Library.
Children are encouraged to read books and fill in book-slips about the books they have read or that someone has read to them.
Blank book-slips can be picked up at the Jefferson County Library and completed book-slips can be turned in at the book-slip drop box on the front counter of the library.
All of these completed book-slips will go into the grand prize drawing bin. The more books you read, the better your chances of winning.
On July 24, the Summer Reading Grand Finale Pizza Party will be held in Madras from 2-3 p.m. at a location to be determined. There will be face painting, pizza, games, and, of course, the grand prize drawings.
Don't miss this year's exciting 2012 Dream Big -- READ! Summer Reading Program brought to you by the Jefferson County Library, the Jefferson County Cultural Coalition, and the Collaborative Summer Library Program. And don't forget to read, read, read!
