All friends and relatives of Virginia Carlson Root are invited to help her celebrate her 90th birthday at a reception from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, June 9, at the Free Methodist Church in Madras. It is requested that there be no gifts.
Virginia and her first husband, Art Carlson, moved to Agency Plains in Madras to farm in 1948. She was a homemaker and the bookkeeper for the farm. Art passed away in 2005, and she married Jack Root in 2006.
She has three children, Norm Carlson of Arizona, Glenda Cloud of Culver, and Christy Faherty of California; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
