Madras man sentenced for sex abuse

A Madras man was sentenced June 28 to over six years in prison for forcibly compelling a female under age 18 to engage in a sex act.
   Michael Arthur Dobbins, 45, pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony, which occurred on Sept. 1, 2011.
   Circuit Court Judge Dan Ahern sentenced Dobbins to 75 months in the custody of the Oregon Department of Corrections, and 10 years of post-prison supervision, and ordered him to pay restitution of $769.67 to Pacific Source Community Solutions.
   As part of the plea agreement, charges of unlawful delivery of marijuana to a person under 18 years of age and first-degree sodomy, as well as two counts of second-degree sexual abuse, and three counts of third-degree sexual abuse were all dismissed.
   Sheryl Blackman, chief deputy district attorney, prosecuted the case.
