Everyone is invited to come watch the Jefferson County Horse Fair, July 13, 14 and 15 at the fairgrounds.
Because the fair rodeo also needs the indoor arena, the Horse Fair is always held prior to the regular fair.
Events this year begin at 8 a.m. each day.
Friday, July 13: Showmanship and English equitation in the morning; dressage after lunch; and after a break, jumping, trail in the outdoor arena, ground training, owner training and harness.
Saturday, July 14: Western equitation and bareback equitation in the morning; versatility and master horseman after lunch; then at 2 p.m., ranch horse, showmanship, cow work and roping; and after the break, ranch trail and reining.
Sunday, July 15: At 9 a.m., gaming showmanship, with barrels, poles, figure eight, key race, flag race, and leader's choice.
The day concludes with a 4-H Horse Fair barbecue and state fair meeting.
