Retano to play in Shriner’s football game

60th annual at 2 p.m. Aug. 4 in Baker City
Culver High School graduate Jesus Retano will get one last chance to shine in football while representing the Bulldogs.
   The 2012 graduate will suit up this weekend as a member of the East squad to play in the 60th Annual Shriners East-West football game held in Baker City. This year's game will kickoff at 2 p.m. Aug. 4 at Bulldog Stadium, and the contest will be televised by Root Northwest.
   Retano, who will play for Eastern Oregon University this fall, was named the Class 2A Tri-River Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year. He was also named a first-team defensive back and tabbed a first-team wide receiver.
   The Shriners game features the top Class 4A/3A/2A players from around the state chosen by coaches. The event raises money for the Shriners Hospitals for Children and is a week-long celebration of footbll.a
