The Madras Irish/Celtic band, Triur Amadan, will be playing for the "Ceili" at the High Desert Celtic Society and Scottish Highland Games Festival from 7 p.m. until about 10 p.m. on Aug. 11, at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.
During the evening Ceili, or after party, admission is free to the public. Triur Amadan, which consists of locals Jon Granby, Royce Schlenker and Michael McGinnis, and past resident Kent Wright, has played in such diverse venues as Maher's Irish Brew Pub in Lake Oswego, Geno's Italian Grill, Great Earth, the Bite of Bend Festival, Jefferson County Senior Center, the Week of the Young Child festivities, and recently at the Madras Aquatic Center for the cyclists who visited Madras.
They will also be playing on the main stage at the High and Dry Bluegrass Festival in Bend on Aug. 19, at 1:10 p.m.
The band is known for their friendly upbeat style and their interactions with the audience. It has been said that they are a band that could make a Banshee giggle.
Triur Amadan would like to encourage all Jefferson County residents to help support the High Desert Celtic Society and Scottish Highland Games Festival by attending all of the wonderful music, dancing, and competitive activities throughout the day (admission is charged from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., adults $10, seniors $7).
Tri£r Amad n hopes to see all of their Madras fans and friends at the free Ceili as well.
