   Fred Hennen Beymer Jr., 88, died June 22, 2012, at the Oregon Veterans Home in The Dalles. Services have been held.

   Warm Springs resident Kelly Beymer passed away July 30, 2012 at the age of 60. Services are pending and a full obituary will appear at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Bel-Air Colonial Funeral Home of Madras.

   Annette J. (Wulf) Fleshman
   May 13, 1968 - August 5, 2012
   Annette Jean (Wulf) Fleshman of Madras, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012. She was 44 years old.
   A celebration of life was held at the First Baptist Church in Madras, Aug. 11.
   Annette was born May 13, 1968, to Elmer L. and Norma "Jean" (Hudspeth) Wulf, in Portland. She spent most of her life in Madras, graduating from Madras High School in 1986.
   Soon after graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Bryan Fleshman, at the First Baptist Church of Madras. Together they had two daughters, and Annette made a career out of raising them into beautiful young women. She even extended her parenting skills into the community, and took special pride in mentoring young children. She was known as "Mom" to many.
   Annette was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Madras, and enjoyed spending time with God. She also had many other activities which brought her joy, including horseback riding, camping, fishing, and swimming, but her greatest happiness came from being with her family and friends.
   Annette is survived by her parents, Elmer and Jean Wulf of Madras; her daughters, Mandy and Alyssa Fleshman of Madras; her brother, Kent Wulf and wife Dana of Metolius; her sisters, DeLynne Swanson and husband Jeff of Metolius, and Connie Wyngarden and husband Jay of Independence; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
   The family asks that any memorial contributions be made to Partners In Care Hospice, 2075 N.E. Wyatt Court in Bend, OR, 97701, 541-382-5882, www.partnersbend.org. Baird Funeral Home of Bend is in charge of the arrangements.

   Desiree Elizabeth Rider-BercierRuiz
   March 8, 1990 - July 30, 2012
   Madras resident Desiree Elizabeth Rider-Bercier Ruiz, 22, died in her home on July 30, 2012. She was born March 8, 1990 in Kalispell, Mont.
   Memorial services were held Aug. 8, at Bel-Air Colonial Funeral Home.
   She is survived by mother, Jewel Beston of Madras; father, Terry Rider of Browning, Mont.; husband, Arturo Ruiz of Texas; grandparents, William and Deloras James of Dunseith, N.D., and Penny and Cisco Bercier of Great Falls, Mont.; uncles and aunts, James and Beverly Surface of Madras, Deb Garfield and Terry Loomis of Metolius, Joey and Dorina Surface of Warm Springs, John Gladue of Kansas City, Kan., Leo and Nadine Bercier of Missoula, Mont., Tanya Bercier and Dale Spearson, and Bridger and Courtney Bercier, all of Great Falls, Mont., and Robin and Skyler James of Petaluma, Calif.; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her brother, Terry "Billy Joe" Rider Bercier, an unborn child, and her grandparents, Thomas and Evelyn Rider of Browning, Mont.

   Robert "Bud" S. Rooker
   March 19, 1926 - August 8, 2012
   Madras resident Robert "Bud" S. Rooker passed away Aug. 8, 2012, at Portland Adventist Medical Center at the age of 86.
   He was born March 19, 1926, in Hazelton, N.D., to parents John and Mabel Rooker. On July 4, 1937, He moved to Yakima, Wash., with his family, where he attended school at Nob Hill and played on the baseball team. At a the age of 15, he began driving truck, hauling produce, hay and livestock for local farmers.
   His love for big rigs, heavy equipment, and horses showed throughout his life. In his late teens and twenties, Bud was frequently seen following the Northwest rodeo circuit, entering roping competitions with his gray mare Smokey. One Feb. 7, 1954, he hung up his lasso and settled down with his wife Flora, until her passing in 2011, after 57 years of marriage. They adopted their daughter, Crystal, in 1970.
   Throughout the years, Bud operated heavy equipment for Perry Hayes out of Yakima, Wash., building roads and leveling land for new construction in the central valley, and again, later, for Jess Evans and Sons. He drove truck for several years, hauling livestock throughout the Northwest for Nello Pistoresi and Sons out of Toppenish, Wash.
   On July 7, 1982, Bud moved his family to Madras and went to work for Norton Cattle Co. driving truck. Bud was a "bull hauler," as he liked to call it, for Tom Norton Sr. until 2002, when he retired from the road and worked locally around Norton's many ranches. He continued to work with Tom Norton Jr. until his full retirement.
   He kept active by attending the weekly cattle auctions at the Central Oregon Livestock Auction yard in Madras and prepping the arenas for the Central Oregon Cutting Horse Association's cutting horse competitions. In April 2012, Bud was awarded a lifetime membership and a vest from the COCHA for his many years of service.
   Survivors include his brother, Russel Rooker of Bonney Lake, Wash.; daughter, Crystal Stewart and her husband Sean of Portland; granddaughter, Tika Gallagher; and great-grandson, Camron Brierley.
   He was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin "Bob," Albert, George, Sam, Wilber, and Benny Rooker; sisters, Marie Hamilton and Frances Rooker; and wife, Flora (Schmidkunz) Rooker.
   Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 18, at Deschutes Memorial Gardens in Bend, with a chance to swap the bull about his life at 1 p.m., at the Madras Elks Lodge. Arrangements were under the direction of Deschutes Memorial Chapel.

   Gordon "Gordy" Weiland
   December 28, 1930 - July 29, 2012
   Gordon "Gordy" Weiland passed away in his home Sunday, July 29, 2012, after a long battle with COPD. He was 81. A full obituary will appear in next week's Pioneer.
