Anheuser-Busch, the maker of the bestselling Budweiser beer, will back the local event -- the Budweiser Airshow of the Cascades -- to be held Friday and Saturday, Aug. 24 and 25 (see story on page 3).
"In partnership with Morgan Distributing of Portland and Anheuser-Busch, the air show board feels we have a great opportunity to grow the event in Madras," said Rick Allen, board treasurer.
With the sponsorship, Budweiser will provide free admission to all U.S. veterans in campaign called "Here's to Our Heroes."
"The signing of an agreement with a large company with a national brand presence is a big thing for the air show and Madras," said Allen. "It gives you an idea of how far the air show has come."
According to Tom Brown, air show chairman, local sponsors have been and will continue to play a key role in the event. Gary Gruner Chevrolet, Buick and GMC of Madras is this year's presenting sponsor.
"The Budweiser Airshow of the Cascades is proud to have our own Gary Gruner Chevrolet on board as a presenting sponsor," said Brown. "His support over the years has been key to our success."
