NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Jefferson County, Oregon, will receive "safety-net" revenues under the "Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act of 2000", PL 110-343. PL 110-343 requires each county to expend 15 to 20 percent of its "safety-net" payment on various kinds of projects pursuant to Title II and III of the legislation or, alternatively, to return that portion of its safety-net payment to the U.S. Treasury. Jefferson County Board of Commissioners elected to designate 15 percent of its safety-net payment for Project Funds under Titles II and III. Of the percent allocated above, 7% has been allocated to `county projects' under Title III and 8% has been allocated to Title II for the Federal Fiscal Year 2012, which runs from October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2012. Title III `county projects' may include:
Category (1): Activities under the Firewise Community
Category (2): Reimbursement for Search, Rescue, Firefighting
or Other Emergency Services on Federal Land
Category (3): Develop Community Wildfire Protection Plan

QUALIFICATIONS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Demonstrated aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned
* Experience with secretarial duties in a school transportation
* Knowledge of State student transportation reporting
* High School Diploma
* Bi-Lingual preferred
* Such additional requirements as the Board may require.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Under general supervision, performs responsible secretarial and clerical work in a school building office. Workers provide secretarial services for assigned supervisors and perform varied office clerical tasks. Work requires responsible contacts with students, parents and others. Employees exercise considerable independence and judgment in performing their assigned duties.
Employee must have good working knowledge of business English, spelling, arithmetic, and modern office practices, procedures, and equipment; good understanding of school office operations, and area and central office organization. Ability to make decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures and the ability to apply these to work problems; ability to maintain clerical records and prepare reports; ability to work effectively with students, and administrative and instructional staff, school employees and the central office staff. Skill in the operation of a typewriter and in operating word processing and computer equipment. Good human relations and communications skills.

CITY OF MADRAS
A Public Hearing is scheduled before the City of Madras Planning Commission to take testimony on a proposed Conditional Use (File # CU-12-2). The applicants, Madras Gospel Mission and Freedom Christian Fellowship, have requested approval for a woman's shelter. The subject property is addressed 937 SE Kierra Place and located on tax lot #13400 in Township 11, Range 13, and Section 12 CD. The subject property is located within the Single-Family Residential (R-1) Zoning District.
The approval criteria from the proposed Conditional Use, include the follow but not limited to: Sections 8-12.3 .1(B) 8-12.4.8 (Supplementary Provisions, and 8-12.6(1)(2) (Conditional Use, and Article 9 (Administrative Provisions) the Madras Zoning Ordinance (No. 723).
