To the Editor,
I read in The Bulletin that the MAC budget that is coming up will cut money to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department. So, if I understand this right people, should vote to be able to splash in the pool 12 months a year and not worry about the fact we now have only one officer on duty in the city of Madras at a time and we should cut the sheriff's deputies that are on call also?
So, while you are at the pool, the bad guys and punks can rob but you get to splash in the pool. I'm sorry, that does not sound like a good trade to me. Our city already has a very high crime rate; why add to it by having less police on the street?
So, I vote between sitting in MAC hot tub or having people break in to my home while my family sleeps.
