The Fall Wool Gathering, formerly held in Shaniko, has moved to the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Madras.
>Moved from Shaniko
The Wool Gathering will be held Sept. 8 and 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Centrally located, easy to find and larger, there is now more room for vendors and stalls to display wonderful products from local fiber animals.
There will be a few farmers market booths for end-of-the summer sales. This family-friendly event has little something for everyone.
The Fall Wool Gathering event is being held to offer heritage and old-world crafts and skills, plus harvest produce to purchase.
There will be demonstrations to show how to do the crafts yourself and to admire the craftsmanship.
Demonstrations will include sheep to shawl, spinning, dyeing, sheep dog herding, and more.
