Burning restrictions continue

Assistant fire Chief
Due to the unseasonal dry and warm weather we are experiencing, the summer open burning restrictions are to remain in place within Jefferson County Fire District No. 1 until Oct. 15.
The only burning permitted within the fire district is in an approved burn barrel, between the hours of dawn and 10 a.m.
Furthermore, the summer burning ban is still in effect for the rest of Central Oregon including state and federal lands as well. Your cooperation and patience is needed during this time.
The burning ban for Jefferson County Fire District No. 1 will be lifted when we receive measurable moisture, which will ultimately reduce the current threat of fire.
Call the fire station at 541-475-7274 to obtain updated open burning information.
