Art Adventure Gallery will host the "It's Personal" show featuring Warm Springs artist Jeanie Smith during the month of October.
An opening reception will be held Friday, Oct. 5, from 5:30-7 p.m., including refreshments and music provided by John Curnutt. The gallery is located at 185 S.E. Fifth St. in Madras.
Smith will be on hand to talk about her new work. Smith's contemporary collage on canvas is from her growing collection of photographs of her art and nature.
"It's Personal" is a combination of many life connections, intertwined and important; masked with mystery but yet familiar ... you will recognize your life and the experiences of others as you view the show.
Her images emerge from flowers; backgrounds are sometimes architectural or represent nature.
As she cuts and layers the pieces, images and colors change, providing depth, rhythm, strength and mystical meanings to the observer. There are no imitations in her process, resulting in endless possibilities.
Smith has been involved with art from the age of 5, coming from a family of artists.
She has exhibited in numerous galleries and art shows and currently shows her work at Art Adventure Gallery in Madras Oregon and in coordination with the Beaverton Public Arts Program in the Portland area.
She and her husband Ken Smith share their time between Warm Springs and Beaverton, with their pet Benni, a silky terrier.
