All films are free and are shown at the Rodriguez Annex, 134 S.E. E St., Madras. Refreshments are available at all films.
Friday, Oct. 5, 7:30 p.m., "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" (PG 13). Starring Judi Dench and Maggie Smith, the story involves several British retirees who travel to India to take up residence in what they believe is a newly restored hotel.
Less luxurious than its advertisements, the Marigold Hotel nevertheless slowly begins to charm in unexpected ways.
Friday, Oct. 12, 7:30 p.m., "The Artist" (PG 13). This silent movie, filmed in black and white, won five Oscar Awards. The story involves a silent movie star who meets a young dancer, but the arrival of talking pictures sends their careers in opposite directions.
Friday, Oct. 19, 7:30 p.m., "Winchester 73" (NR). This 1950 film features James Stewart. In the movie, the journey of a prized rifle from one ill-fated owner to another parallels a cowboy's search for a murderous fugitive.
