I Heart C.O. is a day of service

Madras projects need volunteers

The "I Heart Central Oregon" day of community service will be held Oct. 13, with events scheduled in Madras.
Throughout the day, volunteers in Madras, Redmond, Bend, Sisters, Prineville, and LaPine will serve their communities through various service projects.
This event is designed to meet the practical needs of a city and its people through painting, cleaning and beautification, food drives and more.
In Madras, at the Madras-Jefferson County Kids Club, volunteers are invited to come spend a few hours helping the Kids Club shine up a bit for the new year.
The Kids Club serves the youth of Jefferson County and sees an average of 156 youths a day. The project needs 35 volunteers.
Bring paint brushes, drop clothes, painting tape, painting trays, painting rollers, and ladders. This event is family friendly.
