Tigers, Wolves jump into volleyball playoffs
The Tigard and Tualatin high school volleyball teams jumped into postseason play on Wednesday.
The Tigers were slated to host Thurston in a Class 6A state playoff first-round match while the Wolves were scheduled to play at West Linn.
Results of those games weren't available when the Times went to press.
If Tigard won on Wednesday, it would face South Salem or Clackamas in a second-round match on Saturday. The Tigers would be the home team in a second-round match against South Salem, but they would have to travel to face Clackamas.
If Tualatin won on Wednesday, it would face either Reynolds or Lake Oswego in a second-round match on Saturday. The Wolves would be the visitors in either one of those Saturday match-ups.
The winners of Saturday's second-round state playoff matches advance to play in the Class 6A state tournament, which starts Nov. 11 at Liberty High School.
