The Tualatin High School girls soccer team and the Tigard High School boys soccer team, both coming off of successful regular seasons, will be looking to continue their winning ways in postseason play.
The Tualatin girls, who went unbeaten while not giving up a goal in the regular season, will open the Class 6A state playoffs Friday when they host South Eugene in a first-round match starting at 7 p.m. at Tualatin High School.
The Timberwolves, who won the Pacific Conference championship, bring a 14-0 record into Friday's game. Tualatin has also outscored its opponents by a combined 79-0 margin this season.
South Eugene, the No. 4 team out of Special District 1, is 5-7-3 on the season.
If Tualatin wins on Friday, it will host either Canby or Glencoe in a second-round match on Tuesday.
The Tigard boys, who placed second in the final Pacific Conference standings with a 9-4-1 record, will meet West Salem in a Class 6A state playoff first-round match Saturday starting at 7 p.m. at West Salem High School.
West Salem, the No. 2 team out of the Central Valley Conference, is 7-4-2.
If Tigard wins at West Salem on Saturday, it will either host Newberg or play at Grant in a second-round match on Tuesday.
