To the Editor,
Today (Nov. 16) I had to call 911 as a fire had started in my chimney. When I gave my address to the dispatcher I thought it was very weird to be asked what city I was in. You see, I forgot that the 911 calls are now received in a regional location (Condon, to be exact) ... and you, too, may have forgotten that.
So, please, if you ever need to call 911, remember to give your address, your cross streets and your city to get help to you in a more timely fashion.
By the way, a huge thank you to the men and women at Jefferson County Fire District #1 who came to my rescue! My home is standing because of your work on my behalf. Just another thing to be thankful for during this Thanksgiving season!
