> To the Editor,
Jefferson County dispatchers, if I tried to tell you how much I apprciate you, I'd be talking the rest of my life. I hope that in some small way, you realize how much you have meant to me, and the citizens of Jefferson County. No words can express, no act of gratitude can relay, no gift can represent what your dedication and support have meant.
Not many people know that, since June of this year, there have only been four dispatchers covering seven, 24-hour shifts. You have worked off days, endless overtime and covered each other for personal time. We are so lucky to have had the caliber of professionalism of you four -- Luke, Penny, Amy and Donna.
Our last day at the Jefferson County Sheriff's department was Oct. 31. After that, all calls and all dispatching began going through Frontier Regional 911 (formery Tri-Com) and our 911 center here was officially closed.
Thank you from the bottom of my hearrt for your commitment and tireless efforts.
Longtime Jefferson County Dispatch Center director
