Garcia tabbed player of the year

Senior named top defender in Tri-Valley
Five Madras boys were named to the Tri-Valley Conference all-star soccer team, and one of them was tabbed as the defensive player of the year.
Senior Carlos Garcia, used in both the attack and defense for head coach Clark Jones' club this season, was named the best defender in the conference that featured some of the state's best teams.
"It's a pretty big honor for him and the program," Jones said. "We play in a really tough conference, and with La Salle and Molalla both making the playoffs, it's a big deal."
Garcia was the only White Buffalo to be named to the first-team.
Sophomore David Madrigal and junior Florencio Aguilar-Cruz were named to the TVC second team. Freshman Gustavo Pacheco and junior Robert Reynoso were named to the league's honorable mention team.
