With nearly 7,000 square feet of space, O'Reilly Auto Parts -- near Madras Cinema 5 in Jefferson Square, on the south end of Madras -- is preparing to open in early February.
Steve Abarr, of Battleground, Wash., regional director for O'Reilly, said the new business will be similar to the Bend, Redmond and Prineville stores.
Even with several other local businesses offering auto parts, he expects to differentiate O'Reilly from the others with their marketing strategy.
"We have a dual market strategy," he said. "Our focus is half retail, half professional -- wholesale delivery for professionals."
"We have a lot of stores in small markets," he said, mentioning the Prineville and Sweet Home stores. "We have a lot of do-it-yourselfers."
The store will have a staff of seven or eight people, who have not yet been hired. "We're still in the process of identifying a manager," said Abarr.
Once the building is finished, he anticipates spending a week installing fixtures, and another week merchandising the store before the February opening.
"We're excited to get the store open and be down there in that community," said Abarr.
People interested in working at O'Reilly's can go to the company's website at oreillyautoparts.com and apply. For questions about the business, Abarr suggested that people call the Redmond store at 541-504-8114.
