Brierly opens up Charming Salon
After working in two local salons and a cosmetology retail store in Bend, Tika Brierly, of Madras, decided that is was time to put her talents to work in her own salon.
Brierly, who specializes in haircuts and color, opened the Charming Salon and Boutique, at 596 S.W. Fourth St. (in front of Coach Works) on Dec. 11.
The front room of the business features a small consignment shop with name brand clothing, which will be run by Stephanie Gallagher, Brierly's stepmother.
Brierly, who owns the business, is also stocking an assortment of mostly Montana West "bling" purses and hats.
The salon portion of the business is in a separate interior room.
"I have some great ideas for a hair salon that I haven't seen before -- my own personal touch," said Brierly, who plans to treat all her customers like royalty.
"At Charming Salon and Boutique, each individual lady has beauty awaiting to be discovered and doesn't need to pay a fortune to achieve it," she said.
A 2010 graduate of Phagan's Beauty College, in Bend, Brierly obtained her license in hair design, and went on to work at Le Chic Hair Design and Purple Sage Salon and Spa in Madras. She and her husband, Auston Brierly, live in Madras.
The business is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments can be made ahead of time at 541-815-1766.
