A report from Assistant Madras Police Chief Tanner Stanfill noted that around 5:20 p.m., on Dec. 26, officers were dispatched on a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian accident at the corner of H and Fourth streets, near Figaro's Pizza.
The ongoing investigation, with assistance from the Oregon State Police, determined that Lucille Wright was walking westbound on H Street, and then crossed Fourth Street in an unmarked crosswalk.
As she was crossing Fourth Street, she was struck by a vehicle driven by Robert William, 80, of Madras, who was traveling south on Fourth Street.
William stopped his vehicle and called 911 after striking the woman, the report said.
She was transported to St. Charles Madras by Jefferson County Emergency Medical Services, and later transferred to St. Charles Bend in serious, but stable condition.
As of Monday, Dec. 31, Wright was reported to be in fair condition by St. Charles Bend.
